The Hyundai Tucson offers a lot of value for its price, providing Cincinnati drivers with a comfortable ride and helpful technology. Along with its upscale-feeling cabin and roomy cargo space, there's plenty to love about this model. With the upcoming 2024 model on the way, there's, even more to enjoy about this SUV, so let's take a look at what's offered.
What’s New for 2024?
Since Tucson underwent a redesign in 2022 and last year saw the arrival of the off-road-styled XRT, Kettering, OH, drivers won't find many significant changes for the 2024 edition. That said, the latest Hyundai Tucson is removing its Premium plan from the SEL model, and its contents have been distributed as standard features to other trim levels.
For instance, the panoramic sunroof offered in the Premium plan is now standard equipment on the N-Line trim. And the larger 10.3-inch infotainment screen is now available on all XRT trims and up.
Performance
Powering the new Hyundai Tucson will be a 2.5-liter 187-hp four-cylinder engine. This engine will come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front or all-wheel drive.
As for its hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants - a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will be available, and it's said to output 226 hp on the first model and 261 hp on the second model. All-wheel drive will be standard with an electric powertrain, and both models are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Interior
The interior of the Hyundai Tucson has a simple yet modern dashboard design. There's a digital gauge display, push-button shifter, and touch-sensitive control panel for climate control and infotainment systems. The new Tucson carries on this tradition with a meticulously designed interior packed with high-end materials and amenities.
The updated model will now have better passenger comfort and functionality thanks to its larger cargo room and rear seat space. In testing, it was found that the new Tucson could carry nine carry-on bags behind the back row of the hybrid. But with the seats folded down, the total number of bags is increased to 22.
Technology
While no information has been released on the tech the new Tucson might have, we expect the current standard equipment to stay the same. On current models, Beavercreek residents can find features such as a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A larger 10.3-inch display with built-in navigation is optional—as are features like the SiriusXM satellite radio and an upgraded Bose stereo system.
Additional tech offered on higher trims include Hyundai's digital lock smartphone app, which provides lock and unlock features and options for remote start.Safety
Because of the recent redesign, we don't expect any new safety features to be added to the Tucson model. As current models employ a long list of advanced driver-aids.
Basic features include driver attention warning, forward collision mitigation, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and a rear seat reminder. Higher trims offer blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, blind-spot intervention, lane-keeping system, and a surround-view camera system.
