With the paddles mounted on the steering wheel, you get a new and fun way to change gears. Though the Palisade uses FWD, all models starting with the SE are available with AWD. Not only does the new Palisade have a 5,000-pound towing capacity, but it averages 19 to 26 mpg.
Interior
Thanks to the bench seat in the center row, the Palisade has three rows of seating and a capacity for eight people. If you want to increase the interior space and don't mind losing a seat, snag one with captain's chairs in the middle. All models have a small button to move the second row and get convenient access to the back row. Though it takes some effort to fold the seats, this gives you 86 cubic feet of storage. All of the higher trims are also available with power-folding rear seats. We also like the ample storage you get with cubbies scattered around the inside.
Tech

The navigation and all other apps are easy to find on the 12.3-inch touchscreen. Hyundai includes satellite radio to help you listen to your favorite channels and Bluetooth to hook up your phone. Thanks to the lane-keeping assist and lane departure warning, the Palisade ensures you pay attention to the road and stay in your lane, but it will also steer you into the right spot when needed. We also like the adaptive cruise control, which has a semi-autonomous driving mode that lets the Palisade do a little driving on its own.
